The RIO users guide has the details you are looking for.
First up, the supported WIfi adaptors are on page 63.
I’ve tested the Archer T2U and know for sure it does NOT work. You will need to get a T1U.
Page 64 then has the first part of your post questions… How to set up the adaptor.
In sort, just fill in the details on the groov Manage Network config page and hit save.

Another thing, did you configure the wifi adapter while on the ethernet cable connection? is it ok to plug in both ethernet cable and usb wifi?
As long as they are on different subnets, yes, you can run both at once, no problem.
We have a lot of customers doing that.
