Soft Pac as a redundant controller?

Can I use a Soft Pac as a redundant controller? Is there a special setup for this to work? I have not seen anything about this scenario.

Nope, you have to have a “hardware” controller for that feature.

What about the opposite? Soft Pac is the primary, and a Snap Pac as a redundant? Or are 2 hardware units required?
