I’m working on a project and I need your help. I have a client who uses a Tier 1 or 2 Historian to store all the data I need, and they also have live data. I want to be able to grab the last value from the historian or the live data value and send it to my Epic controller to perform some calculations.
Have you guys seen anything like this before? I’d prefer to use Node Red or MQTT for this, but since I haven’t done it using an historian, I wanted to see if you have any thoughts or past experiences with this.
I had to Google that but did not get many helpful hints… Is that the product or the type?
Really need to know exactly what historian you need to connect with so we can Google it, find their connection and API call options before we can think what tools groov has to pull it off.
Oh, sorry about that. and yes, google is not much on it.
Basically, in reality its just a simple historian with different levels of security. So lets say that is one, they use WonderWare Intouch historian. What i need is to be able to pull the data from that historian becuase they dont want me to connect to there PLC’s directly.
I was think that i could setup OPC server and connect that way. But if there is a way, through sequel or something to pull that data in input it to the PLC, would be great. There main concern is security and they want to place as much levels as they can.
