Removing gadgets and saving changes in handheld

Trying to remove some gadgets in the handheld view. I have already configured and set up the desktop view. All the gadgets at first were stacked down the entire screen and I had moved them over to the right side of the page to stash them, but after saving and loading the view, and switching back to build mode, all of my changes were reset. I tried this a few different times and locked and unlocked all the gadgets to move them, but whenever I return to build mode everything is at the bottom of the page again.

Is there a way to remove gadgets from only the handheld or unlink them so I don’t delete the gadgets from my desktop view as well?

Thanks.

I’m fairly sure you asked product support the same question, but I’ll repeat my answer here for everyone else:

You can always leave gadgets that you don’t want to be visible in one layout or the other in the stash area. They won’t render, though they will continue scanning data. The scan set is determined on the server side, isn’t aware of which layout you’re viewing, plus you can choose to view the handheld layout on a desktop browser by making the window really narrow. Anyway.

If you’d prefer, you can also duplicate the page and delete the gadgets you’re not using for one view or the other, then direct mobile users to the other page. In hindsight, I’ve come to believe that having both layouts attached to a page was a mistake. The idea was to go all-in on responsive pages, but the needs of desktop and mobile devices are different enough that having the same set of gadgets on both often doesn’t work out.
