PAC Project Versions

#1

Almost 95% of my projects were created with PAC Project version R9.6003-86. On one of my PCs, I must have used a more recent version maybe R9.6004-109, R9.6005-125 or R9.6006-131. First off, how can I tell which PAC Project this PC is running. (sure, I can see Control is R9.6e, Display is R9.6F Build 0092 and SoftPAC is v.R9.6a, but what Project version installed those?) Secondly, can I reinstall R9.6003-86 on this same PC and both versions will work (maybe in a different location on my PC)?

Let me know if anyone has made it work.

“First off, how can I tell which PAC Project this PC is running?”
If you look at the PAC Project readme file, there is a section that lists all the component versions for each particular PAC Project installer version. Look for the section titles “Application Versions in PAC Project Releases”:
Here are some examples…

https://www.opto22.com/support/resources-tools/documents/rm-pac-project-readme
PAC Project R9.6005

  • PAC Control R9.6e
  • PAC Display R9.6f
  • PAC Manager R9.6c
  • PAC Project Tools R9.6a
  • PAC Redundancy Manager R9.6a
  • OptoDataLink R9.6c - OptoOPCServer R9.6a
  • SoftPAC software R9.5f | SoftPAC firmware R9.5f | SoftPAC Monitor R9.6a

PAC Project R9.6004

  • PAC Control R9.6d
  • PAC Display R9.6e
  • PAC Manager R9.6c
  • PAC Project Tools R9.6a
  • PAC Redundancy Manager R9.6a
  • OptoDataLink R9.6c
  • OptoOPCServer R9.6a
  • SoftPAC software R9.5d | SoftPAC firmware R9.5d | SoftPAC Monitor R9.5a PAC

Project R9.6003

  • PAC Control R9.6c
  • PAC Display R9.6d
  • PAC Manager R9.6c
  • PAC Project Tools R9.6a
  • PAC Redundancy Manager R9.6a
  • OptoDataLink R9.6b
  • OptoOPCServer R9.6a
  • SoftPAC software R9.5d | SoftPAC firmware R9.5d | SoftPAC Monitor R9.5a

So in other words, you look the versions of your applications and can work backward from there.

“Secondly, can I reinstall R9.6003-86 on this same PC and both versions will work (maybe in a different location on my PC)?”

Yes, you can have multiple versions of PAC Project on a computer, but you have to make sure you tell the installer to use a different directory.

You can tell which PAC Project is installed on your machine by going to Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, it tells you the exact version or versions installed on your PC there.
I have multiple versions of PACProject installed and working on my PC at present

Hope this helps
