Why did OptoProxy never get developed into a release product?
BTW, Mr. Dern has a fixed copy of the version that is still available on the Opto web site that has been fixed. The original version which is only there for examples has a couple of bugs. We are using this for a crude unloading station and apparently it works and has much greater capabilities than OptoDataLink. We are using it to do stored procedures on a MS 2000 DB and therefore do queries and update tables in MS 2000 directly from Pac Control.
Since the Pac controllers can do direct ethernet/ascii communication, and since DB comms are in ascii, why would not this be the perfect application for SQL from PAC?
Also, one more thing, has anyone ever attempted to use MMP to an SQL? Can the scripting in MS SQL call the ActiveX component for MMP?
