I’m trying to wire an Opto 575D15-12 relay to 120 AC with a 11.5A load. I want to use an Arduino Uno to trigger the relay. So far no luck getting the relay to close (it is usually open). Here is my setup:
Questions:
-This relay is for 575V but will it work with 120V?
-Does it need to be wired to the AC voltage to trigger the relay?
-I’m giving it 5V DC out of an Arduino pwm pin. I think the trigger load is like 4mA and the Arduino is rated for 40mA.
-This relay is for 575V but will it work with 120V? - Spec sheet shows 100-600V, so it should.
-Does it need to be wired to the AC voltage to trigger the relay? Yes, most solid state relays require a load to be connected,
I don’t think this one is any different.
I don’t like the different color wires connected to the relay- particularly black and white, makes me think something is going to go boom when it does switch on, hopefully you know what you’re doing.
