Hello everyone,
On one PC, I have installed the Opto OPC server, and on another PC, I’m attempting to access that server using WinCC. I can see the server, but when I try to browse it, no variables are displayed. If I go back one step and try to browse again, I receive the error: Server does not support browsing. I have also observed a blank whitescreen appearing intermittently during this process.
Both PCs are running Windows SP4, and WinCC is also SP4.
Could anyone assist me in understanding what might be causing these issues? any one faced this blank screen issue?
@sophijosephine2 Welcome to the Opto22 Forum
Are you using a SNAP-PAC controller programmed with PAC Control, that you want to connect to from WinCC (OPC client) via the OptoOPC Server?
Did you use the Browser Configuration Tool to read the PAC Conntrol Tag database into the OPC Server?
After installing the software you need to configure it to provide Tags to a client. That is done via the Opto Browser Configurator. Please refer to the users guide how to do this.
Once you have imported the PAC Control Tag Database into the Browser Configurator, you can drag and drop the individual Tags that you want to make public to any OPC Clients.
Btw, the Opto OPC Server is an OPC DA Server (DCOM)
Thank you for the guidance!
I will check if the PAC Control Tag database is imported into the Browser Configurator and review the user guide for configuration steps.
