I am using the following link to download .csv files from a node red dashboard ui_template.
It works when the user logged in has System-wide Administrator rights.
I get a forbidden message in the browser when the user is logged in isn’t a System-wide Administrator and the Node Red Permission is set to Dashboard UI.
Is there a way for me to allow dashboard users access to this feature?
I believe that this is a bug that will be corrected in an upcoming firmware release.
At the moment, you are correct, the only way is to be a system wide admin.
…just checking in on this one. Thought it might have been fixed with the latest firmware release…but is doesn’t look like it.
Our customers cannot get to their process data files. We cannot trust the operators with admin access.

I misunderstood the original post and crossed up my file permission issues with Node-RED dashboard permissions. They are two different things.
We did fix the dashboard permissions issue with 3.6.0, but the file permissions are different and still pending.
Sorry about that and Im glad that our support team got everyone squared away.
