GRV-CCANI-2 any way to read CANBUS data over optommp yet?

I see a couple posts from 3 years ago that the CCANI-2 requires codesys for J1939, has this changed and it this only for J1939? or all CAN data on the bus?

I’d really prefer to read it directly over OptoMMP is at all possible. I’m fine parsing for J1939 and such, but want to have option of access in python in Shell and ideally remotely as well, since I’m doing that with my other data over OptoMMP protocol?

I’m not currently needing CODESYS for my controls, since I do it all in python and would love to avoid that if possible, else I might have to go to a Ethernet/CAN gateway instead of the CCANI-2 module. Thanks for the help or ideas on this.

Sorry for the delay. Most of our staff has been out this week. The GRV-CCANI-2 cannot be accessed with PAC control or MMP to my knowledge. It can however be accessed outside of codesys using the SocketCAN software interface , but we don’t provide support for it (as with all things Shell.)

Thanks @greichert , I did some basic tests with socketCAN and am reading my test data no problem so I’ll go this route and keep it all in python, which is what I was hoping for at this point! Thanks!
