External Task Configuration

Does anyone know how to enable or create an external task configuration in codesys while using a GRV-EPIC-PR1 device?

Ideally our project would rather change specific variables in the codesys project rather than changing the physical I/O on the groove epic via a unix domain socket.

If anyone could provide some insight or direction that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for this post. It is an interesting topic. May I ask, the reason why you are looking to do this with your application, and why the builtin tasks would not work?

The reason I ask, is that currently this is not included with our codesys runtime engine. I would have to put this in as a request for a future firmware update for the EPIC.
