. I’m a dog owner of two Brussels Griffon dogs, a rare breed I highly recommend to those looking to adopt or rescue. Brussels Griffons are small and have much in common with pugs. In general, Brussels Griffons are social, happy, and alert. A term used to describe Brussels Griffons is “velcro” because they like to stay close; they follow me. They play together all day and are joyful little creatures.
. I’m a modern music classic guitarist (2022 Javier Mengual), digital pianist (native-instruments + pianoteq), hand drummer (djembe), ukulele player (low-g tenor), acoustic bass guitarist (with frets :/). I transcribe music using GNU (pronounced “new”) lilypond and typeset using html-sheets-of-paper. I like to improvise, but I play plenty of composed pieces, many pieces from the final fantasy series (Nobuo Uematsu 植松 伸夫 , Masashi Hamauzu 浜渦 正志, et al.) and from other Japanese composers such as Haruomi Hosono 細野 晴臣, Joe Hisaishi 藤澤 守, and Mari Sugi 杉真理. I have listened to Yasunori Mitsuda 光田 康典 and Yoko Shimomura 下村 陽子 since the early and mid-nineties, and I continue to listen to their current works, sometimes hearing a wondrous piece at first not having knowledge of attribution. A big chunk of my sheet music collection has come by way of amazon.co.jp. I can use Apple Logic Pro fairly well.
. (Former?) amateur game developer (this is too big a time sink, but I have the skills). I have a couple of amateur Sega Dreamcast releases in my body of work along with numerous limited-scope PC games. Some of my original ideas are pretty neat!
. GNU/linux beneficiary (meaning the FOSS community has helped me more than I have helped the FOSS community). I started using Ubuntu when the slogan was “linux for humans,” the theme was brown, and the default desktop was gnome 2 (pronounced GEE-nome 2). I miss the olden days of FOSS.
