It has a general ‘file’ node, one for reads and one for writes.
Its up to you to manage the msg.payload that they use.
Technical, there is no limit but I’ve had some fun wrangling files over about 10mb.

Ok, thanks. If the f/w issue never gets resolved, I’ll take a look at doing it that way.

Beno,

I’m trying to follow the “SNAP PAC Security Certificates for Node-RED | Opto 22 Developer” page for installing a cert on an R1 and I don’t remember doing nodered on Pacs as being this involved.
Anyway, the previous page directed me here in order to use https by installing certs on the Pac.
I gather that this page is way outdated, so I need some help navigating this.

The page infers that OpenSLL is already installed, well I guess they are referring to previous windows, maybe…I managed to get OpenSSL installed and got the cli working, but the config file does not exist…do I create it? If so how?

On review, the page is not way outdated, not even a little outdated.
The steps are current and accurate.

The config file location will depend on how you installed OptoSSL. We cant know how you chose to install it.
Open Windows File Explorer, select your C Drive (I have to assume you installed OpenSSL on C:, if you put it somewhere else, select that drive) and search for openssl.cfg. Depending on how you installed it, the file might be called openssl.cnf

Looks like the firmware issues may be fixed. I just got the client to load the Beta fw on a new R1 Gen 2 and everything that has been driving me nuts for 6 months, appears to be working.

Now the files transfer in seconds, corruption is gone, and here is a big one as well, the old problem where the receive string table command was carrying over the line feed character to the next line even though it was positioned after a carriage return, is now fixed. That problem has been there forever apparently, and I guess Doug got it done.

I cannot speak to the other commands like ftp, so that may need to be tested, but I think those issues may have been due to the sdcard mounting problems (unstable) that have been fixed.

I am still trying to get back to the nodred stuff, will do later.
