Is it possible to do disk file I/O in OptoScript?

We wish to write to and read from a simple disk text file in OptoScript (or elsewhere in a strategy) running on an R2. Writing has to occur in real time or very nearly so, as we’re logging asynchronous data. It’s a long-term fixed file, so FTPing a temp file won’t do it.

Is this doable?

Hello ep5.tv,

Welcome to the OptoForums! Lots of options for reading/writing to a text file. Check out this thread and also this comm handles 101 post.

However, I’m not sure I understand your concern about “FTPing a temp file” – could you tell us a little more about what you’re trying to do?

I’m guessing from what you’ve mentioned so far that writing to the sd card in your R2 would be your best bet (now up to 32G w/R9.4a firmware), but that’s based on some assumptions. Can you tell us more?

Thanks,
