Where to find mounting track

I’ve done quite a bit of searching, and I have not found where I can obtain plastic mounting “track” to fit either the old SNAPBXX racks or the new SNAP-PAC-RCK racks.

In some of the documentation, these mounting tracks are referred to as: “SNAP rack mounting extrusion”, SNAP RACK BASE EXTRUSION or just SNAP Mounting Extrusion. Searching for those terms yields no products on the Opto 22 website.

Years ago, we made PC Boards to mount in PVC mounting track (from RDI, I believe). This was one of the main ways we assembled our telemetry and process control panels. Anyhow, fast forward to now, and no matter where I’ve looked, I cannot find mounting track that will fit the widths of the various Opto 22 “rack” PC boards.

I have found “snap apart” mounting track which, if mounted with the proper separation, will accommodate whatever width PCB one has. But using it does require more effort, precision, hardware and adjustment when fabricating the control panels, so I’d prefer to find “one-piece” track if possible. Since these racks come with mounting track when you buy them, I figure that track has to be coming from someplace! I doubt Opto 22 is having it custom extruded for just them, but I could be wrong.

Anyhow, if anyone knows who the supplier is for these sizes of mounting track (4.15" and 3.65" PCB widths to start), I’d like to find out where to get some.

Thanks!

Please drop sales@opto22.com an email and see if they can help you.

I’ll give that a try. Thanks!

I know this thread has aged a bit, but SnapTrack is sold by Scidyne:

Altech also makes track and is sold by RS Comonents/Allied Electronics.
Page 46-47 has the track but the catalog has other goodies I’ve used here and there:
