I have a customer that wanted hourly averages exactly on the hour for remote sites with communications that sometimes went down. They wanted these averages stored in their historian, GE Proficy Historian. (formerly Intellution iHistorian) The historian's file collector was the answer because it allows data to be timestamped based on the timestamp in the file and not when it was stored in the Historian so if communications went down on the hour the data would still have a timestamp on the hour. The attached strategy creates hourly averages and stores them on the controller in the file format expected by Proficy Historian. I use a scheduled FTP utility to move the files from the controller to the Historian file collector directory where they are processed and stored into the Historian.
Maybe a little esoteric. Also it is in PAC Project Professional. Sorry.
