Depends on your requirements. There is nothing inherently wrong with Access databases depending on what your goals are. Certainly easier to maintain than SQL server.
I agree with Philip… The question is a lot like ‘Whats the best car?’.
Depends on what you are trying to do and why and on what hardware.
Personally, as a Linux guy, I like MySQL.
